London, September 16, 2024 – GE Vernova Financial Services and Lizard Renewables SpA announce the formation of Alva Power Srl, a 50-50 joint venture to develop over 1 GW of renewable energy projects in Italy. The goal is to support the country's decarbonization and electrification through photovoltaic, wind, and energy storage systems (BESS). GE Vernova will provide advanced technologies and financial solutions, while Lizard will contribute its expertise and network of local partners. In the medium term, Alva Power will also explore new opportunities in European markets, strengthening the two companies' role in the energy transition.
Renewables, reimagined
Among the numerous energy efficiency projects for companies, Lizard Renewables and Conad Nord Ovest have signed a multi-year Virtual PPA for the supply of renewable energy.
On October 28, 2025, Lizard and Conad signed a Virtual Power Purchase Agreement for the supply of electricity from renewable sources. Thanks to this agreement, Conad Nord Ovest will be able to use 100% green energy produced by two photovoltaic plants located in Lazio, owned by Lizard and Cofiva Holding, a leading operator in the renewable energy sector and a partner of GE Vernova, with a development pipeline of 2.5 GW.
The agreement also allows Conad Nord Ovest to benefit from a fixed energy price, eliminating exposure to market fluctuations and contributing to greater competitiveness and sustainability of its operations. This is one of the first virtual PPAs signed by a large-scale retail trade company in Italy, confirming Lizard and Conad Nord Ovest's shared commitment to the energy transition and decarbonization.
